In December 2022 we announced our membership of the UN SDG Publishers Compact, and in May 2023 we announced about the new ‘EDP Sciences: UN SDGs research collection’ on ScienceOpen. Several EDP Sciences journals have already pledged their commitment to the SDGs including Renewable Energy and Environmental Sustainability.
REES promotes and supports papers and special issues that contribute to the achievement of the UN's sustainable development goals, in particular SDG 7 (Affordable and clean energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The journal is included in the EDP Sciences: UN SDGs research collection on ScienceOpen.
REES, the Official Journal of World Renewable Energy Congress, is an Open Access journal publishing innovative papers in Renewable Energy. Types of article include research articles, review articles, novel applications, theoretical analysis and technologies, and Editorials covering areas including efficiency improvement, energy conservation and sustainability, policy issues and education for sustainable environment and finance. REES is awarded the DOAJ Seal which “is awarded to journals that demonstrate best practice in open access publishing”. Only around 10% of journals indexed in the DOAJ are awarded the DOAJ Seal, so it is a gratifying mark of recognition of the excellent work Renewable Energy and Environmental Sustainability is doing.
Journal topics include Photovoltaic Application and Technology, Solar Thermal Applications, Green Buildings and Sustainable Architecture, Wind Technology, Energy Policy and Finance and Sustainability Education Issues etc. (all topics).
